Yesterday, we were once again honoured to speak to students of Journalism and Mass Communication at Kampala international university.
We motivated them to keep their hands on desires and passion for the chosen field and the sky will be the limit.

Yesterday, we were once again honoured to speak to students of Journalism and Mass Communication at Kampala international university.
We motivated them to keep their hands on desires and passion for the chosen field and the sky will be the limit.
Over the weekend, we yet again spoke to three (3) community based organizations that is to say, Her voice too, Peddle Uganda and Chicken Roasters based in areas of Kasanvu – Kisugu, Namuwongo, Kibuli, Wabigalo and the neighborhood.
This session was organized by Plan International in partnership with the above mentioned groups.
These groups comprise of youth grew up in slums, they used to engage themselves in various mischiefs including drug abuse, sex harassment, stealing and others.
Few years back, #PlanInternational with safer cities for girls project approached the former unruly and notorious youth to transform their lives, they were encouraged to engage in income generating activities like chicken roasting and others, sports activities, dance, singing and rights advocacy for both girls and boys and they have really transformed.
We addressed them, first what we do as Spreading Wings International and later our founder Mordecai Muriisa Martin Junior spoke about his life journey from slums to where he his now against all the odds. He gave motivational message, hope and inspired them to fight for their place in the world.
We were once again pleased with the reception given to us, and we hope to meet these people again when they have moved further steps in life, we hope to work with them in our community outreaches too.
Thank you,
Yesterday, we spoke to the ‘Lost Boys’ formerly a criminal gang on the road of transformation at the former inaccessible ‘Lost Street’ in Kisugu, Makindye Division, Kampala.
We were invited by Plan International in conjunction with Safer cities for girls to deliver a message of hope, on transformation journey of these great men and women that everything to change their lives is centered in their decision to opt for a fundamental change.
These confessed to us that they indeed engaged in untold misneeds, like robbery, harrasing the women and girls, drug abuse, manipulation, unnecessary fights, to mention but a few.
Our founder Mordecai Muriisa Martin Junior , shared with them his life story from the ghettos of Lubaga to the worldwide screens, he anchored his message on hope, motivation and inspiring the sleeping abilities in them.
He surfaced in two appearances, first with a hoodie, army camouflage and sports shoes to blend with them and later in a suit to look like the professionals you know, but there was a message that life can change in minutes if you dares to transform.
We were thrilled with the hospitality from former untouchables, unruly and notorious group, indeed the transformation goal is in their hands, these asked for financial support to buy a a jet car washing machine, general financial transformation and media space to deliver a message that change is possible.
Special thanks to plan international and safer cities for girls, these are driven by the desire to provide free and safe accessibility of girls and women to public places, and communities.
